Sparkly Smokey Eye

I have always loved a classic smokey eye regardless of the fact that however hard I try, I can never achieve that precise, defined look that SLAYS. Maybe it’s because I’m not using the right brushes, wearing fake lashes or perhaps I’m not blending enough. Who knows? But more importantly who cares?! I have finally found a solution that works for me & that is the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette .

Now I know you are probably thinking “how on earth do you create a smokey eye from those shades” & the truth is, I don’t use this palette for anything smoky in the slightest. I in fact use it for the complete opposite, the shim shimmer. It wasn’t until I came across a beautiful & unusual shade of grey in this palette that I realised that an amateur like myself, could finally create the illusion that they might have an idea or two about the art of eyeshadow.

Instead of opting for the usual dark mattes & greys which is what I generally tend to associate with the the timeless makeup style, I decided to try this gorgeous grey shade (top swatch) which is still predominantly matte but has hints of gold glitter.

The second I put it on, I knew that my smokey eye game had instantly increased. This is because the contrast of the light & shimmer with the dark mattes in the crease & outer corner created a depth that I had always lacked by using matte colours all over. Hallelujah!

I know I am still very far from being an expert in the makeup game, but for those of you who have a passion for makeup like myself & want to look as though you relatively know what you are doing with it, see below for how I #discovereddifference & created this look.
