No matter how hard I try, cute summer dresses just don’t work for me.
Every summer I say to myself I’m bound to find at least one, but it never happens.
I’ve tried wrap dresses, tea dresses, smock dresses, ditsy dresses, you name it, but have finally come to terms with the fact that I’ll never be one of those cute summer dress girls…
They’re all either too short or too big for me, so I’ve decided that I can only wear short dresses that are bodycon fit.
To try and mix it up a bit, I thought I’d try some longer summer dresses with a split which would give me the best of both worlds. It’s certainly been easier to find inspo for these types of dresses after following people like Katherine Bond and Yasmin Devonport on Instagram.
Here’s a few of the #SummerSplits I’ve recently found for my tall, slim sisters who also can’t wear cute summer dresses:
Rouged split yellow midi dress

I’m usually a size 8 or 10 in midi dresses and got a small in this for a casual comfy fit.
Floral split midi dress

I got an 8 in this dress and it fits perfectly. Only downsides to this dress is that the split is a little too high, and it’s also a little see through. BUT for the price you can’t go wrong!
Zebra print split midi skirt

I love this because it’s not too tight and perfect for wearing with trainers or for dressing up with heels. I got a size 8.
I’ve linked a similar skirt here as the one above is running low on stock.
Leopard print split satin midi skirt

This is probably my favourite one of all my recent purchases as it’s so soft and effortlessly glamorous. Again, I got it to pair with flats or heels, but mainly more for going out as the split is also a little higher.
I’ve also inked a similar skirt here as the one above is running low on stock.
I’ve already worn all of these #SummerSplits in the short few weeks of sun we had in London recently, so I know they are going to be my summer staples. I hope this post has given all my tall girls some summer outfit inspo.
